From our PTO Community Service Coordinator:
My name is Sara Munoz and I’m the Box Tops for Education® Coordinator at Arlington Classics Academy Primary. I wanted to introduce myself and let you know about the Box Tops program at our school. Box Tops for Education is a national school earnings program that has been around since 1996. Since then, schools across the country have earned over half a billion dollars from Box Tops to buy whatever they need.
Our school’s goal this year is to earn $3,500 for our Parent-Teacher Organization. The PTO supports our teachers, promotes fellowship among our parents, and perhaps most notably, funds our children’s field trips.
$3,500 seems like a lot, but based on past participation, I feel we can achieve that goal. We’ve got an ambitious 3-tiered contest structure this school year:
First, we have several raffles scheduled throughout the year. These raffles honor individual students’ achievements. A raffle ticket is earned for every 10 Box Tops collected during a contest period. From the entries, one student’s name is randomly drawn for each grade (K-2), and that student wins a prize! To be included in the first raffle, Box Tops must be turned in by Thursday, September 26, 2013.
Second, we will have two classroom contests, one in the fall, and another in the spring. The classroom in each grade (K-2) that collects the most Box Tops during a collection period, will win a prize package including a “Fun Day” (free dress and extra recess period on a date to be determined). Deadline for our first classroom contest is Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Contests run concurrently. All Box Tops turned in count for both the individual raffles and the classroom contests.
You can download our Back-to-School Packet for a list of participating Box Tops products, an overview of the program and a Box Tops collection sheet to help you get started. It is not necessary to use the collection sheet, but it is more fun. If you choose not to use the sheet, please turn in Box Tops in groups of 10 (either in a baggie, or glued to a paper or index card). Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or suggestions. If we all work together, we can make a big difference for our school!
Thanks for your help,
